Qui sommes nous ?

La Fédération internationale de l’Action des chrétiens pour l’abolition de la torture (FIACAT) est une organisation internationale non gouvernementale de défense des droits de l’homme qui lutte pour l’abolition de la torture et de la peine de mort.

Créée par dix associations nationales - ACAT - le 8 février 1987, la FIACAT regroupe trente ACATprésentes sur quatre continents : six sont en cours d’affiliation. Association à but non lucratif de droit français, elle a pour mandat de lutter en faveur de l’abolition de la trture et de la peine de mort.

About us

The International Federation of Action by Christians for the Abolition of Torture (FIACAT) is an international non-governmental organisation for the defence of human rights which fights for the abolition of torture and the death penalty.

FIACAT was created by 10 national ACATs on 8 February 1987. It brings together 30 ACATS present in four continents; six ACATs are in the process of affiliation at this time. 
A non-profit association under French law, the FIACAT has a mandate to work in favor of the abolition of torture and the death penalty. 
The International Bureau, elected by the International Council, which brings together delegates of the member associations, supervises the International secretariat’s work.
